Imogene had a taste of success as a playwright in New York City, but her budding career went south before it had the chance to truly blossom. Just months after feeling on top of the world, she has hit rock bottom. Now, she is forced to return to her hometown in New Jersey as she tries to figure out what's next. When she returns, she must find a way to embrace her eccentric and gambling-addicted mother and little brother, from whom she has somewhat estranged herself, as well as figuring out how to deal with her mom's new boyfriend and the boarder that she has taken in. If she can learn to love them, maybe she'll have the strength to make it on her own.
